Come listen to the beautiful wash of sounds from New Zealand’s Rosy Parlane, alongside Ducktails (US), Pumice (NZ), Qua (Melb), Jim Cuomo (US), Aoi (Melb), Toecutter, Guarde Compartmente, and Stalker.
Start off your Saturday evening, by bringing along a bit of food and sitting down to listen to the sonic atmospheres of one of Australia’s laptop veterans, Pimmon alongside Adelaide’s Christian Haines paying homage to the likes of Steve Reich and Alvin Lucier via mobile phone. It all happens at Quiet Appreciation - 6pm, Saturday 3rd October at The Church. (And once again, its free!)
The Vinyl Arcade by Lucas Abela (aka. Justice Yeldham) will be exhibited from 3pm – 6pm each day of the festival. Head to 164 Hunter Street to witness this awesomeness…
Swiss sound artist, Gilles Aubry – who these days hails from Berlin – will be presenting his most recent sound installation, Planes, at the John Paynter Gallery for the duration of the festival.
He will also be performing live as part of the Electro-Performance Evening on Sunday 4th October, accompanied by Australian sound artists Tom Hall and Matthew Hoare.
People busting to hear Ensemble Offspring (and Pimmon) perform Kontakte may be a little surprised and quite happy to hear that this is a free concert. In the nature of Electrofringe – presenting over 50 free events in this year’s festival – Ensemble Offspring’s concert is one of these freebies.
Details: 7pm, Friday 2nd October, Newcastle Conservatorium of Music
