They are everywhere! On eye level, on the ground or elevated. With eternal flames and artificial or dried floral wreaths, carved in stone, built as a monument or cast in bronze; usually rectangular, with or without a cross, dedicated to the Unknown or labelled with names and deeds of the hero. But what actually makes a hero? He agreed to kill other heroes and innocents for his continent (World / Country / Order to fight), and is executed himself? We honour and praise much too little those who stand up for peace in the world, beginning in their own little universe.
