Thursday, October 1st, 2009

Screening this Friday and Saturday nights at the Playhouse Theatre at 6pm, the 2009 Electro-Projections program promises a cavalcade of audio-visual delights from artists across the globe. This year’s program, curated by Matthew O’Shannessy and Michael Prior was selected from an international open call for single-channel video works created within the last two years. Always a festival highlight, and always a treat, this year’s program is divided into two distinct programs. Click the handy link below to read more about it.

2009 Electro_Online Program Now Live

Saturday, September 26th, 2009
electro_online_logo

Curated by Samuel Bruce, the 2009 Electro_Online program showcases exciting  online artworks made in the last two years.

This year we’re pleased to bring you eleven great works from all corners of the web, ranging from crowdsourced re-enactments of a scene from Full House to a series of films available only on peer-to-peer networks. There’s a videogame that will delete the files on your hard drive – or itself, and a program that fills them with redundant code. You’ll hear music recomposed by lagging YouTube servers, sonifications of eBay account data, and Daisy Bell as sung by the collective voice of the internet.

In the lead-up to the festival, new works will be posted each day on the Electro_Online site, and announced over our Facebook and Twitter accounts (quite the up-to-date festival, we are). Samuel Bruce will also be talking about this year’s program at 10:30am on Thursday morning. No better way to kick off the festival we think. For more details, click the handy link below:

ILIOS – from Athens, Greece – has spent the past 15 years exploring extremes of sound and image derived phenomena. We are very lucky to have ILIOS perform and present his work at Electrofringe this year and you will be able to hear him discuss his work and witness it at:
